After 25 years in a variety of roles, moved into business support with MAS (Manufacturing Advisory Service) and the Growth Accelerator Programme, and 4+ years at the NPL (National Physical Laboratory) as part of the team based in Huddersfield.
ABOUT: Born in Morley, always lived in Yorkshire with no desire to live anywhere else.

Ian is grounded in the manufacturing sector specifically production and operations engineering, and general factory management. Ian has gained substantial experience supporting a wide range of organisations from start-ups and early stage businesses, SME’s and blue chip companies, working across the UK and overseas.
Ian is well known with many contacts across the Leeds City Region and has managed and delivered many public sector funded programmes, delivered by commercially focused organisations.
His focus has always been to help clients identify and implement changes to increase operational performance and efficiencies to increase bottom line returns, working specifically with clients in the manufacturing and service sectors.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY: Completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Leeds University and joined British Aerospace (now BAE SYSTEMS) in Preston as a Manufacturing Engineer. After 20 years with the big corporate player, he worked for several fastener and metal suppliers to the Aerospace industry, fulfilling various supply chain and sales roles, culminating as the Head of Global Strategy at thyssenkrupp Aerospace, based in Germany, from 2017 to 2019.
ABOUT: Born in Northern Ireland, lived in Cheshire and settled in good old Yorkshire. Married with 3 grown up children, enjoys travelling, walking and (whilst his rugby playing days are long over) watching sport.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY: Started his career on a Youth Training Scheme at Davy Corporation before joining the Street CraneXpress group. Worked his way through the group businesses and was appointed as Group Sales & Marketing Director. Studied for a PgDip degree in Marketing Management at Sheffield Hallam University. After 20 years, he left to join VP PLC to head up their Lifting Point Hire division. This was followed by a move to KCI Konecranes, the world’s largest Lifting Equipment company, as Head of Business Development UK. His final corporate move was to Mechan in Sheffield, where he headed up a management buyout in 2007, grew the business significantly and sold Mechan to the CIM Group in 2017.
ABOUT: Born, bred and never left Yorkshire (why would you not!). Married with 3 children (23, 17 & 14), 2 cats and a 5-month-old Cockapoo. Enjoys good food, wine, travelling, walking, running, and watching all forms of motorsport.

Previously ran his own consultancy business and has extensive knowledge of grant support management.
ABOUT: Born and grew up in the Ayrshire in Scotland. After many years doing aid work and travelling some of the world, eventually settled in West Yorkshire. Married with two, more or less, grown up kids, a dog and several chickens.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY: Over 20 years in administration, mainly at the University of Huddersfield. Started as an 18-year-old apprentice and is now part of the furniture, so to say. Obtained a degree in Business Studies while working at the University. Worked in various roles, gaining the skills and knowledge to present a professional service for the team and customers. Ensures all processes are in line with the University’s policies and regulations.
ABOUT: Moved to Huddersfield at a young age and still here now. Still waiting to be married (but doing the house up comes first), has two boys, which make the weekends all about football. Loves going on holiday, especially to the second home in Thailand, and when there’s a bit of ‘me-time’ (not often), there’s nothing better than rustling up some food in the kitchen.
